Mayor Anthony Williams Announces Internship Program with K Street

(Washington, DC) - Mayor Anthony Williams is pleased to announce an internship opportunity for a District of Columbia college student to work on the upcoming series entitled K Street.

"This internship will be a unique opportunity for a District college student," said Mayor Anthony Williams. "We appreciate 'K Street's partnership in providing the chance for a student interested in television production to get real hands-on experience in the field."

K Street is a unique improvisational, reality-based series where politicians mix with fictional political consultants to show an inside view of the Washington political process. Producers include George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh, as well as Washington political notables James Carville and Michael Deaver. This internship will provide students with experience in commercial television production during the filming of the series. K Street is proud to be playing a role in this internship program. "This internship provides a Washingtonian a chance to learn exactly what goes into the making of a television series," said producer Michael Hissrich. "This opportunity is particularly unique because K Street will be shot differently than anything else on television."

The successful applicant must be a District of Columbia resident pursuing an undergraduate degree at a District of Columbia college or university. The student must be a junior or senior, with a major or primary educational focus in media studies. This is a paid internship that will begin September 8, 2003 and continue until approximately mid-November, 2003. K Street will select the intern based on letters of interest, and in consultation with the series producer and the DC Office of Motion Picture and TV Development.
